Psalm 84

Intro: Good morning, Church.  This summer I have enjoyed reading the Psalms. It has been interesting to see how often different aspects of nature are included by the Psalmist.

One of the Psalms which caught my eye was Psalm 84. Ps. 84 has one of those lines which worship leaders love to weave into his worship sets vs. 10 Better is one day in your courts than a 1000 elsewhere”. You will also hear this Psalm brought up every time we are looking for new ushers, for the second part of the verse is: I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of My God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. But the verse that grabbed my attention was vs. 2,3 (even the sparrow and the swallow have a place near the alter who dwell in your house”).  My first thought was that if Bobby, our custodian, let this happen we would fire him - for letting birds fly around and poop in the sanctuary.
