Today is the beginning of what often is called Holy Week. It is Palm Sunday. This means that we are very close to Good Friday. I came across a phrase recently that sums up what happened on Good Friday. “Under an eastern sky, amid the rabble’s cry, a man went forth to die.” Today we want to explore what happened at the foot and on the cross of Jesus. We want to focus on “Calvary, the place of three crosses.” Luke puts it this way: “Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with Jesus to be executed.
