I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 19 years old. Then, I did not see another dentist or have dental work for 37 years. Now this was not because of fear of the dentist. We did not have a health benefits plan as a family. So we would have to pay for regular dental checkups. If our teeth didn’t hurt, we didn’t go. Well my teeth didn’t hurt for 37 years. I talked with a dentist. He shared that I probably had the kind of teeth that weren’t super sensitive or something. But then 2 years ago, one of my teeth began to hurt. I hadn’t felt pain like that in a long time. I tried to eat and drink out of one side of my mouth. But if the tiniest bit of water drifted over to that tooth, a shooting pain went through my jaw.
