Years ago, I served as a camp pastor for a week each summer. It was great to have fun with families and spend time in God’s Word with them. This camp had beachfront property on a lake in Ontario. So everyone loved going to the beach daily for fun times. The camp hired a lifeguard to supervise the beach when people went there. I remember one time a lifeguard came on too strong with the families at the beach. They scolded kids and berated parents who did not exactly follow this lifeguard’s expectations. It got so intense that several parents complained to the camp director. Their kids did not want to go to the beach lest they get in trouble with the lifeguard.
