There’s a new word that joined the English language about 6 years ago – It’s called Adulting. The Oxford dictionary defines it as “The practice of behaving in a way characteristic of a responsible adult, especially in the accomplishment of mundane tasks.” The term may have originated with Kelly Williams Brown’. She wrote a blog on adulting and then a book in 2013 entitled: Adulting: How to become a grown up in 468 Easy(ish) steps. The 2018 edition has a slight change in title: “How to become a grownup in 535 easy(ish) steps. One blogger writes: “Adulting can be hard on some days more than others. . . But things like paying bills, keeping the house clean, ensuring you eat 3 meals a day and keeping a job are all part of being a responsible adult.”
